NRHS TECH CREW
Tech crew works during the same time as the actors. Tech crew meets everyday, Monday through Friday 2:30-5:30 (or a little past 5:30) - however during the Fall musical, tech crew meets once or twice at night. To join tech crew, you need to have paid your activity fee to the main office and simply show up. You must wear clothing that can get dirty and get paint on it. YOU WILL GET MESSY. You must wear closed toes shoes - heels and flip flops are not appropriate. If you have longer hair, please bring something to tie it back with. It is the directors discretion to ask you to leave for being inappropriately dressed. Safety is always our first concern.
Since tech crew is open to anyone (9-12th grade) who has paid their activity fee, we ask that on the days you come, you arrive by the start time and stay until the very end and help with clean up. If you have to leave early, we ask that you do not come that day because then you are not helping with the clean up.
Those students who come to tech crew on a consistent basis, are kind, productive and show initiative will be asked to run the show. They get first dibs on assignments. Another way to look at it is the more hours you put in, the more options you have. Remember though, attitude is also a big deal and ultimately the tech director and show directors have final say.

Ms Kane teaches Adv Tech Design and is a professional tech director. In addition to the adult directors, the Tech Crew is frequently student led. Student Crew Heads are chosen from the body of the crew by the adult directors and are chosen to lead specific areas of the production.
CAN’T I JUST DO LIGHTS?
All tech tasks are learning experiences. The more you learn, the more opportunity you have to prove your talents and to be given greater responsibility in specific areas of Technical Theatre. Everyone works on everything.
